What the Third UN Ocean Conference Means for Marine Animals

At the 2025 United Nations Ocean Conference last week the Nice Ocean Action Plan was adopted and a raft of commitments were announced that give genuine cause for optimism. The political declaration reaffirmed existing targets like protecting 30% of the ocean by 2030, supported ratification of the High Seas Treaty, and encouraged action on tackling pollution.
